Overview
The RICS ‘Digitalisation in construction report’ 2023, highlighted the vital role that digital technologies play in the construction industry in addressing the climate crisis and contributing towards economic progress. Despite these benefits, adoption levels remain largely unchanged from 2022 with barriers to adoption, including a shortage in skilled personnel, cost and unclear client demand.
Despite the levelling off of digital technology in the sector, a number of individuals and organisations have sought to incorporate the use of various digital tools such as AI, BIM, machine learning, Digital Twins and blockchain. However, the absence of standardisation across different digital platforms makes it challenging for organisations to guarantee use of the most efficient solutions.
In this webinar we will look at the the key challenges to adoption on a global level. What is the role of digital tools in the construction industry, and how will they revolutionise aspects of construction, from planning and design, through project management and upkeep?
