Overview

To raise competency across the built environment, there are a number of PAS documents that became law on 1 October 2023. This webinar will provide essential guidance and information on what is required for PAS 8671, 2, 3, and their relation and synergies with BSI 8670.

BSI 8670 v3 sets out the core building safety competence criteria, including fire safety, structural safety, and public health, to be included in sector-specific[EM1]  frameworks for individuals working in the built environment. It is applicable to buildings of all types and scales.

PAS 8671 and PAS 8672 are aimed at principal designers and principal contractors, who have been appointed by clients to undertake design works in England,[EM2] [LN3]  to help them understand the building safety competencies and the organisational capability that they require.

PAS 8673 specifies competence requirements for the management of safety in residential buildings and for other developments incorporating residential accommodation. It also gives guidance on detailed competencies and the assessment of competence.

Leading the webinar is John Briggs, the Commercial Director at the Fire Protection Association.
